A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

Summer Tour 2023

Hermia and Lysander plan to elope so they can defy her parents' wish that she marry Demetrius.  They take off into the enchanted woods with Demetrius and the love-lorn Helena hot on their heels.

Deep in the magical forest, the King and Queen of the faeries, Oberon and Titania, are having a marital spat. It is into this enchanted chaos that the lovers stumble and find their predicament further entangled by the faeries' magical meddling.

To complicate matters, some hapless locals are caught in the crossfire of Oberon's jealous revenge plot aided by his mischievous sprite, Puck.  They see their play rehearsals as a very serious matter, but when their lead actor, Bottom, is transformed into an ass, things go predictably awry. Their final presentation of the play is the comedic culmination of A Midsummer Night's Dream and arguably Shakespeare's finest comedy moment.
